Short answer

A business website with us starts from SEK 19,995 and an online shop from SEK 40,000, excluding VAT. For a landing page, we give you a quote. The price is not set by how many pages you have, but by what the site needs to do: how many unique page types are required, which features and integrations it needs and how much content has to be produced. Always ask for a fixed price, and for what it costs per month after launch.

What sets the price?

Two websites can look identical and still differ widely in price. The difference almost always lies in what you can’t see at first glance:

  • Unique page types. A service page built once can be reused for ten services. The time goes into each new kind of page with its own structure, such as the home page, a service page, a case study or a product page, not into how many pages are eventually published.
  • Features. Booking, multi-step quote forms, calculators, logins or an online shop affect the price more than anything else.
  • Integrations. Connections to business systems, accounting, point of sale or customer records save you from moving data by hand, but they have to be built and tested.
  • Content. Will you write the copy yourself, or should the agency? Does imagery need to be produced? Good copy is often what decides whether someone gets in touch.
  • Design and SEO from day one. A design built around your brand and a site made for Google from the first day cost more than an off-the-shelf template, but that is also what makes a site win customers.

Landing page, business website or online shop

Most businesses need one of these three. Prices are starting prices excluding VAT, and your exact price depends on what you need.

Tip

Don’t compare price alone. Compare what is included, especially copy, SEO and what happens after launch. That is where the big differences usually lie.

One-off or monthly?

On top of the build itself, there is almost always an ongoing cost for hosting, security and support. Some agencies fold everything into a monthly fee; others charge once and then by the hour.

With us, hosting and support is a separate service from SEK 1,495/month excluding VAT. It includes:

  • Fast hosting with an SSL certificate
  • Daily backups
  • Updates to WordPress, theme and plugins
  • Security monitoring and a firewall
  • Uptime monitoring
  • Content updates on request
  • Support by phone and email

Work out the total over three years, whichever agency you choose. A cheap start followed by expensive hourly rates usually ends up costing the most.

“The cheapest website isn’t the one that costs least, but the one that actually brings you customers.”

Want to know what your website would cost?

Answer three questions in our price calculator, or get a fixed price after a short call.

How to avoid expensive surprises

Ask these four questions before you sign, whichever agency you choose:

  1. Ask for a fixed price. One fixed price for the whole project, not an hourly rate that can creep up.
  2. Ask what is included after launch. Hosting, updates, security and support. What does it cost per month?
  3. Make sure you own everything. The domain, the content and preferably the code should all be in your name.
  4. Insist on being able to update it yourself. You should be able to change copy and images without having to call anyone.

Watch out for

Contracts where the agency owns your domain, or where the website only works for as long as you pay for their platform. Switching then becomes expensive.

Summary

A good business website is an investment that should pay for itself in new customers. Expect the price to be set by what the site needs to do, not by the number of pages. Ask for a fixed price, find out what is included after launch and make sure you own everything.

FAQ

Good to know.

Can we build the website ourselves instead?

Yes, with tools like Wix or Squarespace you can get started cheaply. But expect it to take time, and to be harder to get the site seen on Google and generating enquiries.

How long does it take to build a website?

With us, a business website normally takes around 4–6 weeks. Larger or more complex projects, such as an online shop, get their own timeline. Work starts the same day the contract is signed.

Why isn’t a website priced per page?

Because the number of pages says little about the work. Once a page type is built, it can be used for many pages. What sets the price is how many unique page types, features and integrations are needed, and how much content has to be produced.

What does it cost per month after launch?

It depends on what is included. With us, hosting and support starts at SEK 1,495/month excluding VAT, with fast hosting and an SSL certificate, daily backups, updates to WordPress, theme and plugins, security monitoring and a firewall, uptime monitoring, content updates on request and support by phone and email. Always ask what is included.

Is SEO included when you build a new website?

Basic SEO should always be included: a fast site, the right structure and keywords. Ongoing SEO to climb the rankings on Google is a separate service.
